EXPERIENCE COMES FROM PRACTICE AND KNOWLEDGE COMES FROM CONSISTENCY OUR YEAR-ROUND CYCLE INTEGRATES BOTH
Outdoor Training develops vivid knowledge, closely aligned with nature, fun and adventure.
DKYL engages students in deep learning by putting their thoughts and behaviors into practice through intentional programmatic strategies to grow their communication, self-awareness, self-reflection, team building, leadership, problem-solving and creativity skills

DKYL recognizes that new information is often difficult to digest when it is taught in long drawn out lessons. The Micro-training approach to workshops is an effective solution that offers brief trainings to address this “learning fatigue” in students.
These workshops help students implement small but consistent actions at their own pace improving mental, academic, and behavioral well-being.
DKYL’s Travel projects are unique 12-day travel experiences that deepen cultural understanding and encourage global service participation.
Travel Projects have two components: learning and service. First, students undergo an intense outdoor training program in unfamiliar locations. Second, they engage in impactful social work projects.
This high-level impact experience allows students to contribute meaningfully to the community while gaining a deeper understanding of themselves, and better global understanding of their surroundings and society.
The program varies by the season, destination, and projects available based on community needs.
Travel project program runs only one time a year. Next travel experiences will be in 2026, 2027 and 2028
